The property is situated in Mission Canyon and is one of the oldest neighborhoods in Santa Barbara. Walk around the neighborhood to see the grand homes, like the house next door built in 1880. Some homes are hidden behind stone walls up long driveways, but many proudly display well-cared-for gardens and impressive architecture.
It is a 10-minute walk to the Natural History Museum and a 15-minute walk to the Santa Barbara Mission. Rocky Nook Park is also about a 12-minute walk away. It is a 10-minute drive to the beach, 15 minutes to the top of the mountains, and 10 minutes to downtown.
Trader Joe’s, CVS, Gelson’s, Renaud’s premium bakery, sushi, and Indian food are a 5-minute drive away.
The Santa Barbara Botanic Garden is just an 8-minute drive.
You are close to everything but feel far out in the country.
Santa Barbara has taxis, Uber, and Lyft. There is also a bus service. Rental cars are available at the airport and elsewhere in Santa Barbara.
The vacation home, House A, and its surrounding 20,000 square feet of gardens are entirely enclosed with green-painted wood fencing and placed at the front of the property.
At the back of the property, approximately 200 feet from the vacation house, is where I live, House B.
I will try to say a quick hello and introduce myself when you arrive, but you won’t see me after that. If you prefer, I won’t stop in. Just let me know. I respect my guest’s privacy. My part of the property also has fencing clearly defining the guest area from mine.
